I was looking for an intellectual properties attorney
who would review the information described in Mr.
Smith v Warner Brothers and consider representing
me on a contingency basis. No one jumped at the
opportunity. A member of California Lawyers for the
Arts took the time to explain that my case would be
very difficult because (1) I had not definitely proved
that Warner Brothers had access to my screenplay and
(2) the WB movie didn't contain nearly exact quotes or
scenes from my script. Oh well. I guess now I'll have
to hop in the car and slam on the brakes at an
intersection just as the light turns from green to
yellow.
